Teppai in Kyoto

One of the best Ohmi/Kobe beef places in Tokyo. Tables have grills that you can cook the platters of delicious beef to your liking. FYI - this was review bombed on here for the $5 per person entry charge, but given that we were a party of 5 and shared the meat and cost amongst yourselves I felt it was reasonable.

Avoid this place, it's a tourist trap : if you want to eat something you must order an "appetizer dish" and they will charge you 500 yen per person + 8% charge!We had the chance to read the prices beforehand since we didn't understand but be careful, the so-called appetizers are not on the main menu. Obviously, we left without eating.

“Teppai “ is a great Japanese BBQ store!I have many experiences to visit Wagyu offered restaurants before. The Ohmi Beef in Teppai is fabulous! And the staffs here were friendly and hospitable for guest who cannot speak in Japanese. I were relaxed during dinner time. I would visit here again.

This is really a terrible place. Feels like they are trying to trick tourists.My husband and I order 1 order of combination beef, according to the menu this is enough for 2 ppl. The waiter said there are two sauces for the beef and asked if we'd like to try both. I said okay, then he ordered 2 of the 2 ppl meals for us without confirming with me. When the order came out, they refuse to take it back. When I asked why did he think we want to eat a 4 people meal with all the other things we ordered, the waiter said "1 order is really only enough for 1 person". Then I asked why did you say meal for 2 people on the menu , he did not answer me.
